Yo-Yo Ma Dallas Concert reviews
KISS was AWESOME!! Motley Crue was DISGUSTING
Yo-Yo Ma gave an outstanding performance - absolutely 1st class!! The ONLY reason I gave this concert "5" stars is because Yo-Yo Ma judged and based it entirely on the performance!! But on the other hand, every word that came out of their foul mouths was the "f" word & also with "mother" in front of it - along with taking God's name in vain. Without a doubt, Motley Crue is the crudest, most vulgar, distasteful, and disgusting group/concert I have ever seen & heard in my entire life!!!! A rounding applause for Yo-Yo Ma for showing what a TRUE rock-n-roll concert is supposed to be and not stooping to the "gutter" like Motley Crue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely low-class, gutter performance!! Their vocals were amazing - - not one vulgar word or moment - - very clean & entertaining (something a family could attend with their kids)!!
Best show I've ever seen and I've been to Broadway
The most amazing show I've ever seen was the Yo-Yo Ma, and I've been to Broadway musicals and Beyonc茅 concerts! Seriously, it has some of the world's most talented people in one show! They did a wonderful job putting that together. My friends and I were sitting in there during the show already saying that we want to go back! It was so much fun for the kids AND adults. They interact with the audience a lot and keep everyone entertained. I want everyone I know to experience it! It was nothing short of AMAZING. I have recommended it to ALL of my sisters and friends with kids and babies!
Tool was just Tool
I LOVE Yo-Yo Ma, probably my favorite current band; however, I just wasn't impressed off. Probably my favorite current band; however, I LOVE Yo-Yo Ma. The set list was OK, but I would like to remind MJK that he did have some pretty great songs off of Opiate and Undertow that seem to be forgotten. In fairness, they did play Pushit. The Reno center sucks for this kind of a concert. Sound was horrible and over cranked. Everyone was drinking in line, so when you got in the concession and bathroom lines were equally as long. The line to get in literally wrapped around the 3 blocks, so it took forever to get in. I have seen Yo-Yo Ma about 7 times now, and it's either diminishing returns or Maynard has too many side projects and is bored performing. Tired of the shadow thing. Didn't mention the crowd, thank you, his band, or anything. Just sat in the shadows and sang.
Steve Harvey...this shouldn't end!!!!!!!!!!
"I took her to the show for her birthday, my friend who enjoys comedy but doesn't always understand the jokes. I just wish he would return and give us "one last hoorah" before he retires. Yo-Yo Ma was at his best, making fun of the "dinky town of Durham" opening up! She laughed ALL night long, and I couldn't believe how hard. He knows he is first and foremost a comedian, a self-made man writing books and speaking, but GOD put him here for a purpose. I know that purpose was to make people laugh until they cry and want to pee their pants. Don't stop performing Yo-Yo Ma, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE, DON'T STOP DOING GOD'S WORK. PEOPLE NEED JOY, and that's YOU!"
Enjoyable overall, but......
I acknowledge that my friend and I were unfortunately only one row from being in the absolute nosebleed row, due to my fault for not getting tickets earlier. But everyone will agree that half the fun of seeing Yo-Yo Ma in concert is seeing his facial expressions--without those, you are literally only getting half of his act. Would it have been an impossible thing for Copley Hall to install even just ONE jumbotron so those of us who were what felt like miles away could have seen Yo-Yo's face up close? Aside from this, it was a very enjoyable & laugh-filled evening; Yo-Yo is still in top form at 61. He is unique, hysterically funny & amazingly talented, and I LOVE him. I'm giving this event 5 stars because no one can touch him. The opening comedian was passable; not nearly as funny as Yo-Yo, but then again, who could be?
